I want to register my Dog for the Eastminster Dog Show!!!!!!
Ginger Mandel, center, doesn't know it now, but her beautiful shihtzu, Ming Li, will be our Best of Show Winner at the Eastminster Dog Show!

Whole families came to the Dog Show to watch and to enter their dogs. BJ, not shown in this picture, a Shar-pei, was the winner of the Non-sporting group!

Louis Riesing, an 8th grader at Churchill Middle School and 4-H member showed two dogs at the Eastminster Event. Cummings, a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, took firstt place in the working group.

Bolo, an Alaskan Malamute, was shown by Marlene Johnson.

Smaller dogs had to be placed on a table in order for the judges to take a good look at them.
Ming Li won the Toy group, and went on to be named Best in Show!

Forrest Gump, a Brussels Griffon, owned by Kandy Sayrs (shown here with Owen Muelder), too second place in the Toy Group.
Kateyln Culp, Manito, Illinois, whose grandparents live in Galesburg, took third place in the Toy Group with her Chihuahua, Hollypeno
Destany Main, Galesburg, took fourth place in the Toy Group with ChiChi, her teacup Chihuahua.
Bogie a wire fox terrier shown by Richard Hamman, St. Augustine, took first place in the Terrier Group. Incidentally, Bogie and Richard took first prize in the "look alike" category in the 2006 Doggie Jog!
Glory Ambruster, a Shelter employee, and the American Staffordshire Terrier, Faye, she had adopted from the Shelter in April took second place in the Terrier group.

Nelson, a cocker spaniel owned by Louis Riesing, Galesburg, took first in the sporting group. Louis is a member of 4-H and his older sister, Heather, is the Animal Health Coordinator at the Shelter.

Missy, yellow Labrador shown by Cory Jacobs, Galesburg placed second in the sporting group. Missy is ALSO the World Champion in Dock Jumping and we very much appreciate it that she could attend the Eastminster Dog Show and compete.
Louis and Alison Riesing took first and fourth places respectively in the sporting group with their cocker spaniels, Nelson and Jack. The brother and sister are 4-H members.

Abby and her owner Lacey Chezum, Galesburg, took fourth place in the non-sporting group. Lacey is a frequent volunteer at the Shelter.

Susan and Owen Muelder's Belgian Tervuren, took second place in the herding group. Jolie is a beautiful dog!
How cute!
Who says a guy with short legs can't win a contest? Basset Hound Brutus, owned by David Bland won the first place ribbon in the Hound group.
Can you believe this is a four month old puppy? M.B. Kinsella-Topping, Monmouth, and Aiden, an Irish Wolfhound, took third place in the hound group at the Show. We believe it was Aiden's first Dog Show.
Rebecca Asher, Galesburg, an dachshund Buddy, placed fourth in the hound group!
Once a shelter dog always a mutt, right? NO! Henry was adopted from the Shelter last year and he and Amy Finley WON the Super Mutt group at the Eastminster Show. Amy has another dog, Gwen, who showed but did not win.

All dressed up! Sabrina, shown with Sara Cooper, Alpha, came dressed as a princess, and the two took third place in the "super mutt" group.

All tuckered out! Shelter dog Sampson, with his "adopt me" bandana, was shown by Molly Schwicter, Galesburg, a Shelter volunteer. After parading the ground at the Show for an hour, Sampson was a tired pup!
