The Prairieland Animal Welfare Center is operated by the Knox County Humane Society at 1855 Windish Drive, Galesburg. The Shelter is the only state-licensed Animal Shelter in Knox County and operates as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals. The Eastminster Dog Show held at the Sandburg Mall on 4/25/10 was a huge success!!! We want to thank all of you that donated and participated in this annual event. Fundraising is vital in keeping the shelter operating. Please continue to support your only state liscensed animal shelter in Knox County!!!
